About Victoria Palace Theatre

Originally designed by the legendary theatre architect Frank Matcham, the Victoria Palace Theatre opened its doors in 1911 as a premier music hall and variety venue. The building is instantly recognizable by its stunning exterior and the beautifully restored, gilded statue of the legendary ballerina Anna Pavlova that proudly crowns its cupola roof.

In 2017, the theatre underwent a phenomenal, multi-million-pound restoration led by owner Cameron Mackintosh, which physically expanded the stage, completely modernized the backstage facilities, and painstakingly restored the stunning Edwardian auditorium to its original glory. This work prepared the historic building to host the technically demanding London premiere of Hamilton.
