About Titanique

Titanique is a jukebox musical comedy in which an eccentric, fictionalised version of Celine Dion hijacks a Titanic museum tour, insisting she survived the 1912 disaster and setting out to tell audiences what really happened between Jack and Rose. James Cameron's 1997 film is recast as camp comedy, told entirely through Dion's back catalogue, with no prior knowledge of the film required.

Created by Marla Mindelle, Constantine Rousouli and director Tye Blue, with music arranged and supervised by Nicholas James Connell.

Interesting Facts About Titanique

The show began off-Broadway in a basement theatre beneath a condemned supermarket, with director Tye Blue maxing out his own credit cards and storing sets and props in the trunk of his car.

It previewed off-Broadway from 14 June 2022, later transferring to the Daryl Roth Theatre, before opening in the West End at the Criterion Theatre with previews from 9 December 2024.

Titanique won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the 2025 Laurence Olivier Awards.

Off-Broadway, the show won 3 Lucille Lortel Awards and the Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical.

Devoted repeat fans of the show call themselves "TiStaniques."

The West End production was rewritten with British-specific pop culture jokes woven into the script.

The real Celine Dion has not attended the show, though her manager and publicist have seen it.

Victor Garber, who played Thomas Andrews in the 1997 film Titanic, has attended the London production.

Criterion Theatre - Facilities and Accessibility

The Criterion Theatre's auditorium sits below street level with no public lift. From the main Piccadilly Circus entrance there are 23 steps down to the Upper Circle, 32 to the Dress Circle and 54 to the Stalls. Step-free access to the Upper Circle only is available via an alternative fire-exit route from Jermyn Street, on request.

Two dedicated wheelchair spaces are located in the Upper Circle, Row C, reached step-free via the Jermyn Street entrance.
A step-free accessible toilet is on the Upper Circle level, reached via Jermyn Street; further ambulant facilities are on the Dress Circle level.
