About The Book of Mormon

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the minds behind South Park, made this one with Avenue Q's Robert Lopez, and it's been packing houses in the West End since its London opening in 2013.

Two Mormon missionaries get sent to a village in northern Uganda: Elder Price, an overachiever who's sure he's destined for something big, and Elder Cunningham, an awkward kid who can't stop lying. Their training doesn't hold up against a village dealing with poverty, warlords, and disease, so Cunningham starts inventing his own gospel out of whatever pop culture he remembers.

The show has won nine Tonys and four Oliviers, and it manages to be two things at once: crude and sincere, built on old-school musical theatre craft with tap numbers and songs that stick, and a heart that's real underneath the jokes.
